Weaving in with the wellness ethos of The Coach House Spa, Visiting Masters Jo Dunbar and Adrian Rooke share their unique practices that will deepen your relationship with the natural environment around you. The duo will demonstrate a way of living that focuses on connecting to and harmonising with nature, highlighting the health, wellbeing and spiritual benefits it has to offer.
Adrian, a modern-day Druid, will introduce you to, and take you on a journey through, the Celtic Druid Wheel of the Year. Focusing closely on the beginning of the Celtic Autumn, Adrian will delve into the ancient ceremony of the Autumn Equinox, and explore why the Blackthorn tree is especially honoured throughout September.
This follows with a light luncheon hosted by druids Adrian and Jo
In the afternoon Jo, a Medical Herbalist for 23 years, will share her knowledge on the healing power of herbs as she leads you in creating your own herbal remedies. She will show you how we can turn common garden plants, hedgerow herbs, and kitchen spices into powerful home herbal medicines, such as using daises to remedy sprained ankles or elderflowers to relieve hay fever.
Together Jo and Adrian will take you for a walk through the lovely gardens of Beaverbrook, explaining the Celtic meanings of the trees, and the therapeutic properties of medicinal plants.
